Performance Level according to EN 13849
Without Shutter
• Without cross-wire short detection performance level d is reached.
• With cross-wire short detection performance level e is reached.
The functionality cross-wire short detection is activated on the Pilz safety
relay. Cross-wire short detection is switched off when using the setting “Cat
2/3”. It is active when using the setting “Cat 4”
In systems without shutter the e-stop relay of the controller “PNOZ-S4” is
switching at every door opening. The replacement intervals of the e-stop
relay and guard door switch have to be defined according to the
application. The maximum cycle number of the guard door switch is often
shown in the data sheet. The maximum cycling number of the e-stop relay
is shown in “Service: Replacement of Components” on page 5-5.
With Shutter
For the system with shutter performance level d is reached.
According to the maximal cycle time of the shutter and guard door switch
the replacement intervals of both components have to be defined
according to the application. The maximum cycle number of the guard door
switch is often shown in the data sheet. The maximum cycling number of
the shutter can be found in “Service: Replacement of Components” on
page 5-5.
