11. Install a new triple-lip seal as follows.
a. Apply the same lubricant used in the axle housing
to the outer surface of the seal and the seal bore
in the bearing cage.
CAUTION : Make sure that the seal lips are clean
and free from dirt and particles that will cause a leak
between the yoke and the seal.
b. Place the drive pinion and cage assembly in a
press, seal bore toward the top.
c. Press the seal into bearing cage until flange of
seal is flat against the top of bearing cage. Use a
sleeve or seal driver of the correct size that fits
against the metal flange of seal. The diameter of
the sleeve or driver must be larger than the
diameter of the flange.
