1 Serial port (COM 1 and COM 2) This serial port (RS232) supports the MEDI-
BUS.X protocol for data exchange between the
anesthesia machine and external devices.
2 Main switch Turns the device off and minimizes the current
consumption when the power plug is pulled out.
To be used when the device is to be discon-
nected from the power supply for longer than
2 weeks and during service activities.
3 Connector for optional work-
place light
Used for connecting an external workplace light.
4 Power inlet (connector for power
cable)
Used to connect the device to the mains power
supply.
5 Potential equalization pin Used for connecting a potential equalization
cable. This will minimize differences in electrical
potential.
6 Network port Enables data transfer within an IT network.
7 USB port Used to transfer data to a USB mass storage
device.
