Installing the patient valve
2 Place diaphragm in breathing valve – ensure that it is
inserted correctly.
3 Install cover and turn approx. 90° clockwise = lock.
4 Plug flow sensor into breathing valve; note groove.
5 Attach elbow to flow sensor
When using a bacteria filter
• always attach bacteria filter to elbow as shown.
6 Connect ventilation hose to breathing valve.
7 Connect pressure lines for flow measurement
to nipples on flow sensor – note different diameters.
WARNING !
Do not use electrically conductive patient
circuits! They can pose a hazard to personnel
and lead to ventilator damage during the use
of a defibrillator!
CAUTION !
Always use elbow connector for accurate flow
measurement.
WARNING !
Always verify that valve membrane is installed
in correct orientation. Ventilator malfunction
will occur if silicone membrane is reversed.
1 Take care not to damage or bend rubber
disc inside patient valve. Ventilator
malfunction will occur.
