Checking Readiness for Operation
- after exchanging the patient valve
- after cleaning and reassembly
- at least every 6 months.
NOTE: Always log checks for documentation purposes.
Connecting a Test Lung (part no. 84 03 201)
The test lung consists of an elbow for attaching the wye,
an ET-tube adapter size 7 mm for simulation of airway
resistance, and a 2 L ventilation bag for simulation of
compliance.
Remove elbow from flow sensor.
Insert test lung elbow to patient connector at flow
sensor.
Connect gas supply:
Open gas cylinder valve slowly and completely,
or
engage gas supply hose to wall terminal with quick
connect probe.
