Preparation
Adjusting the support ring
Protective visor
z Adjust the support ring to the wearer's head circumference using the ratchet.
z If required, fix the visor using the knurled screws on the side.
Safety helmet with visor
z Adjust the support ring to the wearer's head circumference.
Hoods
z Adjust the seating of the hood using the Velcro fastener inside the hood.
Connecting the head pieces
Connect a suitable Dräger X-plore 7300/7500/9000:
z Attach the corrugated hose to the purifying respirator or to the belt unit and to the head
piece and check for correct seating.
Use
z Remove the protective foil from the visor.
z Don the Dräger X-plore head protection: put your chin into the face cuff and pull the head
protection over your head.
z Grasp the fixation clip of the face cuff with your finger and push it towards your chin. The
face cuff must sit tightly around your face.
z Check the seating.
z Switch on the purifying respirator or connect the compressed air hose unit.
The surplus air flow will escape via the exhalation valve.
Use of accessories
Tearable protective foil
z The protective foil covers the visor and protects it from scratches, damage, colour particles
and dust. Replace the protective foil of the visors in due time to extend the service life of
the visors.
Replacing the protective foil
z Remove the damaged protective foil.
z If required, wipe the visor using a humid cloth.
z Pull off the protective paper from the adhesive strip of the new protective foil.
z Adhere the new protective foil to the outside of the visor.
TYVEK
®
head protection hood
It is recommended to wear the TYVEK head protection hood under all visors and helmets (Or-
der No. R 55 354). The TYVEK head protection hood protects additionally from cold and dirt.
Earmuffs
Fixable earmuffs (Order No. R55585) are available for the safety helmet with visor. They can
be attached directly to the helmet (observe the corresponding Instructions for Use).
