Self diagnosis
If any of the following readings is outside the indicated limits the unit will annunciate
MALFUNCTION.
Press key 9 during the self diagnosis procedure to show test data.

Continue to check the proper working of the battery conditions levels.
Battery condition levels:
Connect an adjustable power supply to the battery eliminator jack. Vary the voltage near to the
indicated levels and find the level of annunciation.
Press 9 Battery levels check for alkaline
Normal > 4.5 V
Start-up < 4.5 V > 3.9 V
Low < 3.9 V > 3.2 V
Replace < 3.2 V
Press 9 Battery levels check for NiCd
Normal > 5.0 V
Start < 5.0 V > 4.8 V
Low < 4.8 V > 4.0 V
Charge < 4.0 V
End battery condition levels
Press 9 Unit comes back into normal operation mode.
