8. Maintenance and cleaning
Themandatoryrstserviceandgoodandregularmaintenanceareveryimportanttoincreasethe
lifespan of the e-bike.
8.1. First service
Toprotectyourwarranty,therstserviceataDutchIDdealerismandatory.Thismustbecarried
outaer3monthsor500km,dependingonwhichofthetwocomesrst.Itisimportanttostore
the service documents in a safe place for future warranty claims.
8.2. Maintaining your bike yourself
Variousmaterialsandpartscanrespondtowearindierentwaysdependingontheload
imposedonthem.Iftheplannedlifespanofapartisexceeded,itcansuddenlyfail.Thismay
resultininjurytothecyclist.Anytypeofcrack,grooveordiscolouraoninheavilyloadedareas,
such as the frame, front fork, handlebars or brakes, indicates that the part has reached the end of
its lifespan and that it must be replaced.
8.2.1. Cleaning the e-bike
Regularlycleaningthee-bikewillextendthelifespanofthee-bike.

CAUTION
Ҍ All parts, including the power unit, must not be immersed in water or cleaned with high
pressure.
Ҍ Do not use aggressive detergents that may damage the parts of the e-bike.
Ҍ Turnothepowerunitandthebaerybeforecleaning.Thebaeryshouldpreferablybe
removed from the e-bike.
Uselukewarmwaterwithamilddetergentandasospongetocleanthee-bike.Donotusea
scouring sponge, steel wool or other abrasive cleaning products.
Carefullycleanthebaeryandpowersystemwithaso,dampcloth.
Regularlycleanthereectorsonthee-biketoensureyouremainvisibleintrac.
Tostoprustformingonparts,werecommendcoangallchromeplatedandunpainted
aluminium/stainlesssteelpartswithacidfreepetroleumjellyaercleaning.
NOTICE
The toothed belt is maintenance free and must not be lubricated.
8.2.2. Checking the tyres
Regularly check the tyre pressure of your e-bike. See chapter 5.7 for more details about the tyre
pressure.Anexcessivelylowtyrepressureaectswear,theeortyoumustexerttocycleand
thebaeryrange.
