Fitting Attachments on the Flexible Shaft
CAUTION!
• Tighten the clamping nut (o) only when the attachment is fi tted. Otherwise the collet
(21, 22) could be damaged.
1. Slide the grip (r) of the fl exible shaft back so that the
clamping nut (o) appears.
2. Undo the clamping nut. Use the small open-jaw
wrench (14) to do this.
3. Make sure that a collet (21, 22) in the correct size has
been inserted. If necessary, fully unscrew the clamping
nut and replace the collet. When you do this, insert the
collet with the narrow end fi rst. Then screw the clamping
nut back on, but not tight.
4. Insert the shank of the attachment you want into the col-
let. Half or at least 2 cm of the shank must be recessed in
the collet. But make sure that it is not pushed in too deep.
The cutting edges must not be in the collet.
5. Tighten the clamping nut using the open-jaw wrench. CAUTION: Do not overtight-
en the clamping nut in order to prevent any damage.
• To remove the attachment again, slide the grip of the fl exible shaft back and undo
the clamping nut. Then remove the attachment.
Fitting the Flexible Shaft to the Device
1. Remove all accessories that may be fi tted from the device.
2. Check whether the chuck (10) with the square inner bore
has been inserted. If it has not, unscrew the clamping
nut (e) using the open-jaw wrench (6) supplied, insert the
chuck and then tighten the clamping nut again.
3. Release the quick clamping lever (q) of the fl exible
shaft (2) and push the clamping ring (p) as far as it will go
onto the tapered end of the motor unit.
4. Rotate the quick clamping lever if necessary and turn it
over so that the fl exible shaft is fi xed in place.
• Proceed in the reverse order for dismantling. If it is not possible to remove the chuck
straight away, gently tap on the thread until the chuck is released.
