5.4 LCD Fault and Alarm messages
5.4.1 Fault/ alarm definitions
Rule1:
An alarm is displayed to warn the user about a special event, temporary defect or a load
incident.
It should not make the user call the Eaton service: no red led, no continuous buzzer sound.
The alarm message is displayed on status screen top row.
If the defect or incident cause disappears, then the alarm disappears.
A fault is displayed to warn the user about UPS failure or UPS mode change due to external
incident (Mains, load, temperature).
Fault display is: red led, continuous buzzer sound, fault message box.
Rule2:
When a defect has the possibility to be an alarm or a fault (example: overload, temperature),
then as long as the defect does not transfer to a permanent bypass mode or a stop: it is an
alarm/ otherwise it is a fault.
