4.12 Residual-life indicator
Figure 9: Residual-life indicator (“residual life”)
The NZM digital circuit breaker (with PXR25) contains a residual-life indicator
(“residual life”), which indicates the degree of wear on the contact system.
This is determined by the number of operations and the loads that occur in
the process. Residual life is expressed as a percentage. From a starting value
of 100 % it decreases with every operation.
In this condition, the device will still be able to carry the rated operational
current and can safely switch off at least one further overcurrent.
CAUTION
If the residual-life indicator reaches a value below 25 %,
we recommend replacing the device during the next
maintenance interval of the machine or system.
To use the residual-life indicator in all operating states,
an external power supply is required.
If you have any questions or feedback regarding the residual-life
indicator, please contact your local Eaton technical support.
