6 HMI OPERATION
The Nalco STORM™ settling rate monitor is equipped with a high-resolution colour touchscreen HMI
operator interface. The operator can view the status of the STORM™ and adjust operation parameters
via the HMI.
This screen has been selected to give optimal performance over a wide range of ambient light
conditions.
6.1 Main (Home) Screen
The Main screen is the default screen. The HMI will display this screen on power-up, and will
return to this screen after a period of inactivity.
Control Functions
The operator can select the mode of operation AUTO, OFF or MANUAL. The unit will normally
operate in AUTO mode.
In AUTO mode the STORM™ unit will automatically continuously cycle through the sampling
sequence.
In MANUAL mode the operator can individually operate any of the solenoid valves to test
functionality.
OFF mode will stop operation of the STORM™ unit.
The operator can toggle the sample tube LED backlight on and off and reset any fault condition.
