8.3 Settling Cylinder Removal and Re-installation
The Settling Cylinder is designed for simple removal and reinstallation. The following tasks
must be completed prior to removing the Settling Cylinder:
1. Select the unit into ‘OFF mode.
2. Isolate the air supply at the filter/regulator.
3. Purge air from system by manually operating the purge valve until the pressure gauge
reading is 0kPa.
4. Isolate feed water.
5. Remove the Turbidity Instrument as per Section 8.2
Settling Cylinder Removal Procedure (to be read in conjunction with photographs):
Step 1:
Disconnect air and water push-fit connections from the top of the Settling
Cylinder.
Step 2:
Disconnect level sensor coupling.
Step 3:
Open top PVC union be careful not to lose the union O-ring.
Step 4:
Disconnect sample hose camlock (be careful not to lose Camlock O-ring which is
located inside female connection.
Step 5:
Remove wing nuts.
Step 6:
Remove Settling Cylinder
Step 1: Disconnect Air & Water
Step 2: Disconnect Level Sensor
Step 3: Open Top Union
Step 3: Top Union Removed
