8 MAINTENANCE
8.1 Cleaning and Preventative Maintenance Intervals

8.2 Turbidity Instrument Removal
The turbidity instrument is held in place with a 40NB PVC union. Prior to removing the
instrument, the following tasks must be completed;
1. Select the unit into ‘OFF’ mode.
2. Isolate the air supply at the filter/regulator.
3. Purge air from system by manually operating the purge valve until the pressure gauge
reading is 0kPa.
4. Isolation feed water.
To remove the instrument for inspection or cleaning, disconnect the union and withdraw the
instrument from the Settling Cylinder.
When reinstalling the instrument into the Settling Cylinder, pay close attention to the
orientation of the instrument face. Please refer to the following images for the correct
instrument orientation. The gap in the probe sensors should be orientated to vertical.
