6. Software
The Software supplied is used to configured and calibrate the EASZ-2. A computer is connected to a unit
either by using the USB-RS or USB-CL communication cable.
Connecting directly to a unit using a Com Cable must NOT be performed in a hazardous area.
6.1. Software Installation
1) Locate the EASZ-2 file directory and double click setup.exe
2) Select OK to continue the installation
3) Select Change Directory to create a new program directory.
Select button to continue installation
4) Click Continue
5) Click OK to finish installation
6.2. Software Connection
WARNING: Do not connect or disconnect any cables in hazardous areas and do not use non-approved
equipment in hazardous areas such as laptops, notebooks and mobile phones.
Connect a computer, with the installed software, to the EASZ-2 using either:
6.2.1. USB-RS Com Cable
The USB-RS Com Cable can be used to configure individual
units locally either by plugging in to the RS485 connector inside
the unit or in the external junction box (if fitted).
The USB-RS Com Cable can also be used to configure all units
on a single RS485 bus by plugging into the first external
junction box (usually in the control room).
6.2.2. USB-CL Com Cable
The USB-CL is used to remotely configure individual units connected to a 4 - 20 mA Current Loop either
by plugging in to the Current Loop connector inside the unit or in the external junction box (if fitted).
