6.3. Software Description
The EASZ-2 software has one main window with 3 tabs.
6.3.1. Main Window
The main window contains:
“Com Port” is used to set the communicate port with the
computer.
“Sampling Interval” is used to sets the rate at which the
software readings are updated.
“Modbus Address” selects which unit to communicate
with on a RS485 serial connection.
6.3.2. “Measuring” Tab
The measuring tab is used to only view the real-time values on
the selected unit. It shows the actual ADC and temperature
values the resulting “temperature compensated ADC” value
and the % Water Content.
When the “Log to file” box is ticked a text file (log.txt) is created
in the same folder as the software which records the values and
the computer system time.
6.3.3. “Calibration” Tab
The calibration tab is used to calibrate the unit and also shows
the real-time values from the selected unit.
The Low-Point and High-Point calibration set values are
displayed and to change then click one of the calibration
methods, see the Calibration section for more details.
6.3.4. “Settings” Tab
The settings tab is used to set other functions and parameters.
The display “backlight” can be switched on or off.
The colour of the backlight can be set to change when a
specified % water content has been exceeded.
The maximum % water content to be represented by the 4-20
mA current loop can be set.
6.4. Communication Protocols
The EASZ-2 uses the following memory ranges
Input registers – read only 30000 to 30052.
Holding registers – read/write 40000 to 40036.
