Troubleshooting
21:5MOTORSHORTCIRCIUT
ThiserrorcodeisgeneratedbytheMCUfordrummotor.
TheMCUreadsthepowerconsumptionofthemotorcontinuously.Ifthecurrentforsomereason
exceedsapredeterminedlimit,theMCUwillcutthecurrenttothemotor.Afterthemotorhas
stopped(=tachometerindicatesstationarymotor),theMCUwillattempttorestartit.IftheMCU
thendetectshighmotorcurrentagain,thiserrorcodewillbeactivated.Ifonrestartingafterarst
shortcircuit,theMCUrotatesnormally,theerrorcodewillnotbeshown.
Possiblecauses:
Thiserrorcodecanbeactivatedforanumberofreasons:
•Shortcircuitinmotor.MeasuremotorwindingswithaMotorTester.
•Shortcircuitinternallyinmotorwinding(impairedefciency,highercurrentconsumption).
•Shortcircuitinmotorcables.
•Shortcircuitinconnectors.
•Dropsofwatercausingshortcircuitsinthemotorconnector.
•ShortcircuitintheMCUoutputtransistors.
•Badcontactintachosignal.
•Badcontactininterlocksignal.
Recommendedactions:
1.Iftheerrorisastableone,itisgenerallynotdifculttolocatethedefectiveunitthroughresistance
measurementandtestingwiththeserviceprogram.MeasuremotorwindingswithaMotorTester.
2.FurtherinformationcanbeobtainedbystudyingthecontentsofMCUERRORLOG1andMCU
ERRORLOG2.Reviewfollowing:
SHORTCIRCUIT2(specieshowmanytimestheerrorcodehasbeenactive).
SHORTCIRCUIT1(specieshowmanytimesthecurrentlimithasbeenexceeded.The
differencebetweenshortcircuit1andshortcircuit2indicateshowmanytimestherehasbeena
shortcircuit1thathasnotbeenconrmedwhenrestartingthemotor).
LASTFAULTCODEN/8(showsthe8latesterrorcodes).
TACHOERRORLOWSPEED(cangiveaclueincaseofintermittenterrors).

21:6INTERLOCKHARDWARE
ThiserrorcodeisgeneratedbytheMCUfordrummotor.
TheMCUmustbepoweredwith230V/50or60Hzontheinterlockinputinordertodrivethemotor.
TheinterlockcircuitsintheMCUhavebeensplitintotwochannelssothatacomponenterrorin
MCUcannotgiveafalseconrmationthatthedoorislocked.Thesetwochannelsarechecked
againsteachother.Ifthischeckgivesanincorrectresultthiserrorcodewillbeshown.
Possiblecause:
Thereasonforthiserrorcodebeingactivatedcanbeattributedtoanerrorintheinterlockcircuits
inmotorcontrol.
Recommendedactions:
1.ReplaceMCU.
