z Con tessuti pesanti che si sfilacciano, il bordo non
lavorato deve essere prima cucito a sopraggitto.
Piegare l’orlo lasciando un margine di 0,7 cm, come
illustrato in figura.

q Rovescio tessuto
w 0,7 cm
x Sistemare il tessuto in modo che l’ago fori appena il
bordo della piega quando si sposta a sinistra. Abbassare
il piedino.
c Eseguire la cucitura, facendo passare il bordo piegato.
Una volta terminata la cucitura, aprire il tessuto.

r Stitch length: 1–3
z Fold up the hem and fold it back to from a 1/4˝ (0.7 cm)
allowance as illustrated.
[A] Heavy weight fabrics
[B] Light or medium weight fabrics
q Wrong side of the fabric
w 1/4˝ (0.7 cm)
x Position the fabric so that the needle just pierces the
edge of the fold when the needle swings to the extreme
left.
Lower the presser foot.
c Sew along the folded edge.
Open the fold flat.
