AssembletheUpperTensionSpringovertheUpperTension
BarandsecuretheEyeBoltwiththeLocknutorScrewtothe
originaldimension.
AfterassemblingintotheFrontCover,settheTension
RegulatorDialto“0.”Thereshouldbeminimalplaybetween
theEyeBoltandLocknut.TheUpperTensionSpringshould
movesidetosideslightlybuthaveenoughpressurethatit
doesn’trattleloosely.AdjustLocknutifneeded.
Checkingthenormaltension
Whentheupperthreadtensionisadjustedcorrectly,notensionoftheupperthreadshouldbefeltwhenaNo.
120threadisbeingusedandtheTensionRegulatorDialissetat"0”(withthepresserfootleverinthedown
position).Thefirstslighttensionshouldonlythenbefeltwhentheindicatormarkonthefrontcoverislocated
between“½“and“1"ontheTensionRegulatorDial.
Iftensionisfeltwhenthedialissetbelow“½”adjustasfollows:
Adjustingthenormaltension
Todecreasetheinitialthreadtension,turntheupperLocknut
orScrewslightlycounterclockwiseuntilthereisnotension
felt.
Toincreasetheinitialthreadtension,turntheupperLocknut
orScrewslightlyclockwise.
