SPECIAL EFFECTS PLAYBACK (No sound)
"SPEED SEARCH ” AND “ STILL ” PLAYBACK CAN ONLY BE USED WITH CASSETTE
TAPES RECORDED IN “ EP ” . THE AUDIO OUTPUT IS MUTED DURING THIS
PLAYBACK MODE.
WHEN PLAYING BACK A PRE-RECORDED TAPE IN SP MODE DURING SPEED
SEARCH AND STILL OPERATION, LARGE NOISE WILL APPEAR, COLOR WILL LOSE,
AND NOISE SOUND WILL BE HEARD.
THIS IS NOT AN INDICATION OF MALFUNCTION.
PREPARATION
• Turn on the TV POWER switch and set to the video channel 3 or 4.
• Make sure that the TIMER REC switch is off.
• Make sure that the timer display shows the present time correctly.

TO WATCH THE SCENE ONCE AGAIN
OR SKIP THE UNWANTED SCENE:
• To release the
speed search
mode, press the
PLAY button.
• To continue the normal
playback, press this button
again.
• If the STILL function con 
tinues more than 5 minutes,
unit will automatically stop.
Press the REW/
REVIEW SEARCH
button or FF/FOR-
WARD SEARCH but 
ton during playback.
• A few noise bars
will appear on the
picture during
SPEED SEARCH
operation.

cation of a mal 
function.
• When the picture
is moving up or
down ("rolling ” )
adjust the Vertical
Hold Control on
the TV set.
Press -the PAUSE/STILL
button. A few noise barswill
appear.
Press the REPEAT
button, then VCR will
playback the same
cassette tape again
and again.
