Chapter 3: Testing Your Blood Glucose
Using the Lancing Device
The best depth setting is the lowest number that draws enough blood for a test. Try different settings to
find the one that is right for you.
Please do not share your lancing device with anyone. And always use a new, sterile lancet. Lancets are for
one time use only.
Note:
Used test strips and lancets are considered bio-hazardous waste in accordance with local
regulations and should be handled as if capable of transmitting infection. You may discuss
methods for disposing of used test strips and lancets with your doctor.
