5.6 Disposal of ELC
Dispose of the ELC according to the national law in force.
ELC of type X providing powers of 12kW or more contain a
lithium battery. Mind the following hints at disposal of the
ballast:
Lithium batteries are save when adequately
handled.
Improper use or storage can lead to fires.
Don’t use defect lithium batteries.
Cover the poles by taping during storage and
disposal to prevent shorts.
Dispose of used batteries and accumulators
appropriately in collection boxes (commerce) or
municipal collection points.
Removal of the battery from the ELC:
Remove front hood and the screws marked in the picture above, pull out base plate.
The battery is located in the left hand part of the ballast on the vertically mounted
X6C-board:
