[Aux.boiler] function block Configuration parameter
Explanation of [Boiler order]
Optional: only for multiple auxiliary boilers
If more than one auxiliary boiler is installed, the priority
of each of them is set with this parameter. It can be
given a setting from 1 (highest) to 4 (lowest).
The auxiliary boiler with priority 1 is defined as the
"main boiler" and will be put into operation first. The
auxiliary boilers with the priorities 2, 3 and 4 are auto-
matically put into operation in this order when the main
auxiliary boiler can no longer meet the demands.
Regardless of the priority setting, auxiliary boilers
always have lower priority than an ETA boiler.
Explanation of [AuxBoilerMax]
The maximum temperature of the auxiliary boiler is set
with this parameter. If it exceeds this temperature, it
will be switched off.
Explanation of [Enable AuxBoilChargePump]
Optional: only for [Aux.boiler charging pump]
This parameter is used to set the minimum
temperature of the auxiliary boiler for starting its
charging pump.
Explanation of [Thermostat diff.]
Optional: only for [Aux.boiler charging pump]
This parameter is used to set the minimum difference
between the temperature [Tank temperature] of the
tank to be charged (buffer or hot water) and the
temperature of the auxiliary boiler [AuxBoilerTemp] for
starting the auxiliary boiler charging pump.
Explanation of [Hysteresis] for auxiliary boiler
charging pump
Optional: only for [Aux.boiler charging pump]
To start the auxiliary boiler charging pump, the
auxiliary boiler's temperature must be higher than
[Enable AuxBoilChargePump]. At the same time, the
[Thermostat diff.] plus the [Hysteresis] must be
exceeded with respect to the tank temperature.
Example:
[Enable AuxBoilChargePump] = 50 °C
[Thermostat diff.] = 5 °C
[Hysteresis] = 2 °C
=> The auxiliary boiler charging pump will be switched
on as soon as the auxiliary boiler has exceeded the
minimum temperature of 50 °C and is also 7 °C
warmer than the tank that needs charging.
The auxiliary boiler charging pump is switched back off
as soon as the auxiliary boiler is cooler than the tank
temperature plus the [Thermostat diff.].
Or if the auxiliary boiler goes below the [Enable Aux-
BoilChargePump] minus the [Hysteresis].
Explanation of [Enable diverter valve]
Optional: only for [Diverter valve]
This parameter is used to set the minimum
temperature of the auxiliary boiler at which the
changeover valve can route the heat from the producer
with the higher temperature to the consumers.
Explanation of [Hysteresis] for changeover valve
Optional: only for [Diverter valve]
The temperature of the auxiliary boiler must be higher
than that of the boiler (or buffer) by the [Hysteresis]
value in order for the diverter valve to route the heat
from the auxiliary boiler to the consumers.
If the temperature of the auxiliary boiler is lower than
that of the buffer (or boiler) by this amount, the diverter
valve switches to the buffer, which supplies the
consumers.
Explanation of [Switch priority]
Optional: only for [Diverter valve]
With the [Temperature diff.] setting, the changeover
valve always switches to the heat producer with the
higher temperature.
With the [Boiler pump] setting, the changeover valve
switches back to the buffer as soon as the boiler pump
is switched on. This used to be called "Diener" mode.
Explanation of [MixValve runtime]
This parameter sets the running time for the mixing
valve actuator, the time needed to turn it from the
closed to the fully open position.
Set the running time according to the information
on the mixing valve actuator's type plate.
