If your Fostex FD-8 displays an error indicating the backup disk cannot be used, it could be due to several reasons. First, if you inserted a disk that was used for the current drive, press the EXECUTE/YES key twice to delete the existing data and continue the save operation. Alternatively, the disk’s recording mode might differ from the data you're trying to save or load; in this case, turn the JOG dial to display [Eject], then press the EXECUTE/YES key and insert another backup disk. Finally, if the backup disk contains some data and doesn’t have enough free space, press the EXECUTE/YES key twice to erase the existing data.
