Digital input signals (signals from the control sys-
tem)
General remarks
WARNING!
Danger of an electric shock.
This can result in serious injury and damage to property.
The automatic-welder interface ROB 3000 must not be used for controlling any com-
ponents that are directly connected to the mains.
The digital inputs and outputs are galvanically separated:
- from one another
- from the LocalNet and the welding potential
- for a maximum voltage difference of 100 V
For each of the digital input signals, there is a GND and an input (HI) with external 24 V
activation, or alternatively, a potential-free input (LO).
To initialise a digital input signal
- connect the GND for the relevant input signal to the respective GND of the automa-
tic-welder control system
IMPORTANT! If the automatic-welder control system only has one shared GND for
its digital output signals, then the GND’s on the automatic-welder interface must be
linked to one another.
- switch the 24 V from the automatic-welder control system to the input (HI) or
- connect the potential-free input (LO) with the GND for the relevant input signal via a
potential-free switch (relay)
Signal level for the HIGH-active inputs:
- LOW...... 0 - 2,5 V
- HIGH ..... 18 - 30 V
Reference potential: GND for the relevant input signal
Arc ON Terminal 1/1..... 24 V to HI (signal initialised)
Terminal 1/2..... alternatively: GND to LO (signal initialised)
Terminal 1/9..... GND
The signal “Arc ON” starts the welding operation. The welding operation remains active
as long as the “Arc ON” signal is present.
Exception:
- The digital input signal “Robot ready” is absent
- The digital output signal “Power source READY” is absent
A welding sequence corresponding to the selected operating mode (2-step mode, 4-step
mode, aluminium welding start-up, ...) is now started up.
Exception:
- The digital input signal “Robot ready” is absent
- The digital output signal “Power source READY” is absent
IMPORTANT! If the “Arc ON” signal is not initialised, or not wired-up, the welding opera-
tion can be started by pressing the torch trigger.
