Troubleshooting The Built-in Filtration System (cont.)
Move filter handle to OFF position. Allow oil/
shortening to cool, then empty pan. For Filter
Magic and FootPrint III units, verify that O-ring
on pan outlet is present and in good condition.
Verify that the O-ring on the oil return fitting at
the inside rear of the cabinet is present and in
good condition. Verify that filter paper and
screen have been properly installed and are
clean. Refill the filter pan and move filter handle
to the ON position.
Problem
resolved.
Probable cause is solidified oil/
shortening in the filtration unit
return lines. Move filter handle to
the OFF position, refill filter pan,
wait 10 minutes, then move filter
handle to ON position.
Is oil/shortening
being returned to the
frypot?
Probable causes are solidified oil/shortening in filtration
unit return lines or blockage of return line suction tube on
bottom of filter pan. A blockage of the return-line
suction-tube is usually due to sediment/food particle
build-up caused by failure to use crumb tray, and the use
of improperly sized or installed filter paper. Failure of
solidified oil/shortening in the return lines to melt
indicates a defective heater tape or 24 volt transformer.
If unable to clear
blockages, call
FASC.
Is a strong
stream of air being
pumped out of Power Shower
port (or rear flush port, if so
equipped)?
Probable cause is
improperly installed/
prepared filter pan
components.
