Resetting the administrator pa
ssword and
network settings
To reset the administrator pas
sword and NAS network settings, proceed as follows:
► Press and h old the reset butto
n on the NAS for a 3 seconds. A beep will be heard.
This will reset the following settings to th eir defaults:
• System administration pa
ssword: admin
• TCP/IP configuration: IP address is automatically obtained via DHCP
• TCP/IP configuration: Ju
mbo Frame is deactivated
• TCP/IP configuration: If port bundling is activated (only for models with two LAN ports),
the port bundling mode is reset to Active backu p (failure protection).
• System port: 8080 (syst
em repair po rt)
• Security level: Low (all connections are allowed)
• VLAN is deactivated
► Advanced system reset (10 sec.): P ress and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
Two beeps sound (af
ter the third and tenth seconds). The NAS resets all system settings to
the f actory settin
gs, just like with the w eb-based system reset under Control Panel - System
Settings - System C
onfiguration - Reset to factory settin gs , only the data is retained. Settings
previously made b
y you, such as users, user groups and network sharing folders are deleted.
After an advanced
system reset, you can access old data again by creating the same
network sharing f
olders on the NAS. All data will then be accessible again.
► Log in to the NAS with the default user name and password.
