5.2 Cleaning the ADF
As a rule, clean the ADF every 1,000 scanned sheets. This,
however, depends on the type of document you are scanning. For
example, the ADF sometimes must be cleaned more frequently
when toner has not sufficiently adhered to the document.

Cleaning the ADF
The following parts needs to be cleaned in the ADF unit:

Pad ASY
•
Pick roller
•
Feed roller
•
Plastic roller
•
Sheet guide
•
Glass
CAUTION
When the scanner is in use, the surface of the
glass inside the ADF becomes hot.
Before cleaning ADF, disconnect the AC
adapter from the power outlet, and wait at
least 15 minutes for the glass to cool down.
