Transporting the no tebook
Protect the notebook from severe shocks and extreme temperatures
(e.g. direct sunlight in a car).
If your device has an optical drive, remove all optical disks from the drives (e.g . CD, DVD).

Sw itch the notebook off.
U nplug the AC plug of the AC adapter and all external devices from the po wer outlets.
D isconnect the AC adapter cable and the data cables for all external devices.
C lose the LCD screen.
To protect against damaging jolts and bumps, use a notebook carrying
case to transport your notebook.
Cleaning the notebo

Do not clean any interior parts yourself; leave this job to a se rvice technician.
Only use cleaning products designed for computers. Norma l house hold
cleaners and polishes can damage th e markings on the keyboard and the
device, the paintwork or the notebook itself.
Ensure that no liquid enters the notebook.
The LCD screen very sensitive to scratches. Only clean the display
surface with a very soft, slightly damp cloth.

of the AC adapter from the power outlet and remove the battery (see chapter

arly dirty, use a damp cloth which has been dipped in water containing
some mild d
omestic detergent and then well wrung out.
To clean the keyboard and the touchpad if presen t, you can use disinfectant wipes.
Ensure that no moisture reaches the inside of the device!
Further information on cleaning the notebook
The notebook does not oat.
If the notebook is exposed to water or othe r liquids with its connections open, liquid can
penetrate the notebook and cause a malfunction. Do not co ntin ue to use the notebook.
