Assigning the supervisor and u ser passwords

Start the
BIOS Setup Utility
and go to the
Security
menu.

Select the
Set Supervisor Password ¿
eld and press the Enter key.
With
Enter new Password
: you are a sked to enter a password.
Ź
Enter the password and press the Enter key.
Confirm new Password
requires you to con

rm the password.
Ź
Enter the password again and press the Enter key.
Changes have been saved is displayed as a con¿rmation that the new password has been saved .
Ź To set the user password, select Set User Password and proceed exactly as
when con¿guring the supervisor password.
If you do not want to change any other settings, you can exit BIOS Set up Utility.
Ź In the Exit menu, select the option Save Changes & Exit.
Ź Select Yes and press the Enter key.

The Tablet PC is rebooted and the new p assword is effective. It will now be necessary to
¿rst enter your supervisor or user password in order to open the BIOS Setup Utility. Please
note th at the user password only provides access to a few of th e BIOS settings.
Changing the supervisor password or user password
You can only change the supervisor password when you have logged into the
BIOS Setup Utility with the supervisor password.

Ź Start the BIOS Setup Utility and go to the Security menu.
Ź When changing the password, proceed exactly as when assigning a password.
Removing passwords
To re move a password (without setting a new password) perform the following st eps:

Ź Start the BIOS Setup Utility and go to the Security menu.
Ź Highlight the Set Supervisor Password or Set User Password ¿eld and press the Enter key.
You will be requested to enter the current password by the Enter Current Password prompt.
Enter New Password will appear and you will be requested to enter a new password.
Ź Press th e Enter key twice at this request.
Ź In the Exit menu, select the option Save Changes & Exit.
Ź Select Yes and press the Enter key.
The Tablet PC is rebooted and the password is removed.
Removing the supervisor passwo rd simultaneously deactivates the user password.
