Cleaning
Duration: approx. 7 minutes
Clean the brewing unit before the service programme
starts (see section
Cleaning the brewing unit).
1 Turn the function selector to S.
2 Select "Cleaning programme" using the rotary
selector.
3 Touch the ™ symbol.
The cleaning programme starts. The notes in the
display guide you through the programme.
4 Empty and replace the drip tray and the coffee
dregs container.
5 Confirm using ™ and start by using
I.
The cleaning programme runs for about 1 minute.
6 Place a cleaning tablet in the ground coffee drawer
and close the drawer again.
7 Confirm using ™ and start by using I.
The cleaning programme runs for about 6 minutes.
8 Empty and replace the drip tray.
9 Touch the ™ symbol.
The cleaning programme has finished. The appliance is
ready for operation.
Descaling
Duration: approx. 25 minutes
Use the descaling container supplied. Once the
programme has ended, clean the container with
washing-up liquid or put it in the dishwasher.
Note: If a filter is installed in the water tank, it must be
removed before the service programme starts and must
not be replaced until the programme has ended.
1 Turn the function selector to S.
2 Select "Descaling programme" using the rotary
selector.
3 Touch the ™ symbol.
The descaling programme starts. The notes in the
display guide you through the programme.
4 Empty and replace the drip tray and the coffee
dregs container.
5 Touch the ™ symbol.
6 Place the descaling container under the milk frother
and put the milk hose into the container.
7 Touch the ™ symbol.
Notes
‒ If the milk frother is not fitted, the message
"Please fit milk frother" appears. Fit the milk
frother and confirm using ™.
‒ If the water filter is activated, the message
"Remove water filter" appears. Remove the water
filter and confirm using ™.
8 Fill the empty water tank with lukewarm water up to
the "calc" (0.5 l) mark and then dissolve two
descaling tablets in this water.
9 Confirm using ™ and start by using I.
The descaling programme runs for about
24 minutes.
Note: If there is too little descaling solution in the
water tank, the message "Fill water tank with water
and descaler" appears. Fill the empty water tank
with lukewarm water up to the "calc" (0.5 l) mark
and then dissolve two descaling tablets in this
water. Confirm with ™. The descaling programme
will continue.
10 When requested to do so by the message in the
display, rinse the water tank and then fill it with
fresh water up to the "max" mark.
11 Confirm using ™ and start by using I.
The descaling programme runs for about 1 minute
and then rinses.
12 Empty and replace the drip tray.
13 Touch the ™ symbol.
The descaling programme has finished. Touch the ™
symbol. If a filter is used, re-insert it now. The appliance
is ready for operation.
Notes
‒ Wipe down the appliance with a soft, damp cloth to
remove descaling solution residues immediately.
Corrosion can form under such residues.
‒ New sponge cleaning cloths can contain salts. As
salts can cause surface rust on stainless steel,
rinse the cloths thoroughly before use.
