8) Fit the chain cover (27) and tighten the chain
cover (27) by turning the chain cover lock nut (30)
with the wrench (10mm) (41) provided clockwise
until it is tight. (Fig. P6)
9) If the saw chain is still loose or too tight, use the
4mm hex key (44) to adjust the saw chain slightly.
Lubricating the saw chain
WARNING. Cutting edges on the saw chain
are sharp. Use protective gloves when
handling the saw chain.
Keep the saw chain sharp. Your pole saw will cut
faster and more safely. A dull saw chain will cause
undue sprocket, guide bar, saw chain, and motor
wear. When the cutting creates little sawdust or the
device is hard to cut, the saw chain is dull.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the saw chain (25) or guide bar (26)
when lubricating the guide bar, saw chain and
sprocket.
1) Clean the guide bar and sprocket.
2) Using a grease gun, insert the tip of the gun into
the lubrication hole (d) and inject grease until it
appears at the outside edge of the sprocket tip.

3) To rotate the sprocket, pull the saw chain by
hand until the ungreased side of the sprocket is in line with the grease hole.
Repeat the lubrication procedure.
Guide bar maintenance
To maximize guide bar life, the following bar maintenance is recommended.
The bar rails that carry the chain should be cleaned before storing the tool
or if the bar or chain appears to be dirty.
The rails should be cleaned every time the chain is removed.
