Before
use:

Either
remove
the
cover
from
the
unit
or
make
sure
that
the
curved
tongue
on
the
cover
locates
in
the
groove
along
the
rear
of
the
base
and
raise
the
cover
to
its
hinged
open
position.

Locate
the
adaptor
provided
over
the
record
spindle
if
playing
large
hole
records.

Remove
the
stylus
guard
if
fitted
and
move
the
pickup
arm
locking
lever
to
‘Free’.

Check
that
the
three
operating
control
tabs
are
upright
and
the
record
speed/size
selector
set
for
the
record
to
be
played.

Play

Place
the
record
of

choice
on

turntable.

control

‘Start’

hold
its

a

to
its
rest
and
the
unit

Place
the
record
of
your
choice
on
the
turntable.

Move
the
manual
control
tab
to
‘On’.

Move
the
cueing
control
tab
to
‘Litt’.
Position
the
pickup
arm
over
the
record
by
hand,
using
the
finger
lift,
and
return
the
tab
10
‘Play’.
Alternatively,
the
pickup
can
be
lifted
and
lowered
by
hand.
After
playing
the
record
the
pickup
will
return
to
its
rest
and
the
unit
will
switch
off.
Cue
and
Pause
When
playing
&
record
manually
the
cueing
control
tab
may
be
used
to
place
the
pickup
on
the
record,
also
to
raise
or
lower
the
pickup
at
any
selected
point.
Record
play
can
be
temporarily
interrupted
in
a
similar
way.
To
raise
the
pickup
move
the
cueing
control
tab
to
‘Lift’;
to
lower
the
pickup,
return
the
control
to
‘Play’
Repeat
Move
the
auto
control
tab
to
‘Start’
while
a
record
is
playing
and
the
pickup
will
return
to
the
start
of
the
record.
Stop
(Reject)
Move
the
auto
control
tab
to
‘Stop’
and
the
pickup
will
lift
from
the
record
being
played,
return
to
its
rest
and
the
unit
will
switch
off.
(If
the
manual
control
tab
is
moved
to
'Off*,
the
258m
must
be
returned
to
its
rest
by
and.
Automatic
Record
Counter
(11.12)
This
is
a
reminder
to
check
the
condition
of
your
stylus.
Each
time
the
pickup
arm
returns
over
its
rest
after
playing
a
record,
the
red
pointer
(11.14)
moves
