The oven has 6 rack positions.
Place the gray porcelain-coated
racks in positions "R", "B" and "D"
for self-cleaning the grates. Place
one grate each on the oven racks
from side to side.

Your range hasthree professional-style double
grates.These grates are position-specific. For
maximum stability,these grates should only be
usedin their proper position.Forconvenience,
the undersides of the sidegrates are marked
"OUTSIDE".Make sure the front portion of
both grates isin front. Thecenter grate can be
interchanged front to back.
Cleaning Grates - Soap and Water
Lift grates out when cool.Grates should be
washed regularly and, of course, after spillovers.
Wash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with
clean water. When replacing the grates, be sure
they are positioned securely overthe burners.
Replacethe grates sothat straight lines are
formed with the center ribs of all three grates.
Cleaning Grates--Self-Clean Oven
Toget rid of burned-on food, you may use the
self-clean cycle ofyour range. Remove any
burnt-on food particles that you can prior to
placingthe grates in the oven. Placethe gray
porcelain-coated racks in positions "R","B" and
I'D_,"
NOTE:Donot clean thegriddle in theself-
cleaning oven.
Placeone grate each on the oven racks from
sideto side.Follow the instructions for how to
set the upper ovenfor cleaning.
NOTE:Usecaution when removing the grates
from the oven after the self-cleancyclehas
ended.Thegrates may still be hot.
Forheavily-soiledgrates,you may notice some
white ash on the grate. Wipe it off with a damp
cloth after the grate cools. Ifwhite spots remain,
remove them with a soap-filled scouring pad
and rinsethoroughly with a vinegar and water
mixture.
Thesedeposits are usually a salt residuethat
cannot be removed by the clean cycle.
Cleaning Grates--Dishwasher
Thegrates may be cleaned inthe dishwasher.
Removeany burnt-on food particles that
you can prior to placing the grates in the
dishwasher. Placethem on the lowest rack
of the dishwasher and run on a "heavy duty"
cycle.
Donot operate a burner for an extended period
of time without cookware on the grate. The
finish on the grate may chip without cookware
to absorb the heat.
Although the grates are durable, they will
gradually losetheir shine, regardless of the
best careyou can give them. Thisisdue to their
continual exposure to high temperatures and
abrasion bythe cookware.
Support Bumpers
Ifone or more of the circular silicone grate
support bumpers in the cooktop are missingor
damaged, replacement parts can be obtained
by calling 1.800.GE.CARES.
