7.1.2.9 Identification of disconnected electrodes
Reset the simulator to ECG signal at a heart rate of 60 bpm. Remove one electrode after the
other from the ECG transmitter.
Activate the “12 lead” mode in the MAC 1200 device to be tested without activating it by
pressing the Start key.
Check to ensure that each disconnected electrode is displayed correctly and that an acoustic
alarm signal sounds.
7.1.2.10 Checking the charge status of the NC battery
The NC battery can, among other things, be checked as follows:
discharging the battery, followed by charging up completely (duration 4 h), followed by
discharging in standby mode without recording.
If the operating time for this procedure is under 2.5 h, the battery should be replaced.
7.1.3 Safety Analysis Tests
7.1.3.1 General information
The suggested Safety Analysis Tests refer to the international standard IEC 601-1.
The tests are generally performed with Safety Testers, on most of them, the measuring
circuits according IEC 601 are already implemented.
The following is a general description of the tests to be performed. For the handling of your
Safety Tester follow the user manual.
The tests may be performed under normal ambient conditions of temperature, humidity and
pressure and with line voltage.
The leakage currents correspond to 110 % of rated voltage for the tested unit. Most Safety
Testers take this into account, otherwise the measured values have to be calculated.
Recommended Test Equipment
- Safety Tester for measurements according to IEC 601.
- Testing connector according to the following description.
