*1. Class 1 EQUIPMENT
EQUIPMENT in which protection against electric shock does not rely on BASIC INSULATION only, but which
includes an additional safety precaution in such a way that means are provided for the connection of ACCESSI-
BLE CONDUCTIVE PARTS to the PROTECTIVE(EARTH) CONDUCTOR in the fixed wiring of the installation in
such a way that ACCESSIBLE CONDUCTIVE PARTS cannot become LIVE in the event of a failure of the BASIC
INSULATION.
*2. Type BF EQUIPMENT
Type B EQUIPMENT with a F-TYPE isolated applied part providing a degree of protection against electric shock
to such a degree that the allowable PATIENT LEAKAGE CURRENT under SINGLE FAULT CONDITIONS is not
exceeded when 1.1 times the highest rated MAINS VOLTAGE is applied between the APPLIED PART and earth.
