Use of child restraint system
Infants and older children
Infants
All seat belt system and airbag system of
vehicle are not designed for protecting
infants or younger children. Infants or
younger children shall be always protected
with corresponding child protective devices.
If the shoulder belt twines around neck of
a child, the child will be severely injured
and even killed when the seat belt is
tightened gradually. Do not leave
children in vehicle alone and do not allow
them play with child restraints.
Be sure not to carry an infant or child in
the arms when sitting in the driving
vehicle. In the event of a crash, infants
and young children cannot be held due to
the impact of the crash, and they should
be fixed in appropriate child restraint
systems.
The necks of infants and young children
are not fully developed, and their heads
are heavier than other parts of the body.
In order to reduce the risk of neck and
head injuries in a crash, infants and
young children need comprehensive
supports.
Older children
Older children who are beyond the range of
child safety seats shall wear seat belts.
The instructions attached to child safety
seats states the weight and height limits for
the child sitting in it. Children who meet the
following applicable conditions shall use
seat belts together with the child safety seat:
Try to sit on seat as back as possible.
Children should not bend their knees at
the edge of the seat.
Buckle the seat belt, and do not put the
shoulder belt on children's shoulders.
The seat belt shall not be worn down and
close to the buttocks of children.
The seat belt cannot be worn correctly
during driving.
Older children should wear the seat belt
correctly. It is prohibited for the seat belt to
cross the child's face or neck, and the seat
belt should be close to the child's hips. In
case of a crash, the seat belt can provide
additional restraint.
Be sure not to wear the seat belt on the
abdomen, otherwise serious injury will be
caused in the event of a crash.
In the event of a crash, children who do not
fasten their seat belts may bump into others
or be thrown out of the vehicle, causing
serious injury or death.
It is forbidden for two children to share
a seat belt, otherwise the seat belt will
not be able to disperse the impact force
correctly, which will cause serious
casualties in the event of a crash.
When a child wears a seat belt, do not
let it press behind the child.
Otherwise, serious casualties may be
caused in the event of a crash. The seat belt
should be over the shoulder and across the
chest.
