3. PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION OF THE POWER GENERATOR
3.1. Denition of the device class
The type 2801 power generator belongs to the device class of electricity generating units with com-
bustion engine and asynchronous generator and is designed for 230 V, 50 Hz electricity generation in
commercial and private environments. The supply is in a transportable distribution system.
The type 2801 power generator is characterised especially by its robust construction and the protec-
tion class IP 54.
3.2. Intended use
As part of a mains back-up system, the power generator produces electrical energy to feed into
a transportable distribution system.
Connect electrical consumers only up to the total power indicated on the rating plate. You can
nd the power generator rating plate on the left side below the control box.
Observe the specications for voltage and frequency.
Note the start/inrush current for inductive consumers.
The loop impedance as the sum of all connected cables must not be greater than 1.5 Ω in ac-
cordance with ISO 8528-8. This results in cable lengths of up to 60 m with a cable cross section
of 1.5 mm² and up to 100 m with a cable cross section of 2.5 mm². Use only approved extension
cables that correspond to the standard.
Electronically controlled devices can be sensitive to overvoltage or undervoltage. These voltage
uctuations can lead to malfunctions or can damage this equipment. Ask the manufacturer
whether their device is designed to be powered by a power generator.
Only operate the power generator on a level surface outdoors. Maintain the minimum distanc-
es specied in section 2.2. Supply and exhaust openings must be free.
Note the selected earthing system. If your power generator is equipped with a residual current
device (RCD), it must be earthed properly before commissioning.
Reading and observing the operating instructions for the power generator and the drive motor
is part of the intended use.
Note the requirements for maintenance and repair.
