Operation of the power generator
use special additives.
The ambient temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for the engine. Use the diagram to select
the best viscosity for the expected temperature range.
A SAE 30 - Under 4°C (40°F), using SAE 30 makes it dicult to start the engine.
B 10W-30 - Using the 10W-30 above 80°F (27°C) can lead to increased oil consumption. Check
the oil level more frequently.
C Synthetic oil 5W-30
D 5W-30
5.4. Preparations for initial commissioning
NOTE
The power generator is delivered without engine oil. Never start the engine without engine oil. Damage
caused by operating the engine without oil cannot be repaired and is not covered by the manufacturer's
warranty.
We recommend that the oil level is checked at least twice a day during the running-in phase (approx. 200
operating hours). After the running-in phase, it is sucient to check it once a day.
• Fill the engine with oil.
For this, refer to the operating manual of the engine manufacturer.
• Check the oil level.
This procedure is described in Chapter “5.5.2. Checking the oil level in the engine” on page
27.
• Fill with fuel.
This procedure is described in Chapter “5.5.4. Filling fuel” on page 28.
• Start the power generator.
This procedure is described in Chapter “5.6.1. Starting” on page 29.
• Perform a 10-minute test run.
• Do not operate the power generator without load.
