Use a single-outlet surge suppressor meeting the specifications on page 13. Note: This treadmill isn't compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets. Next, with the power cord plugged in, check that the key is fully inserted into the console. Finally, examine the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord; if it's protruding, the switch has tripped. To reset it, wait five minutes before pressing it back in.

What to do if walking belt is off-center or slips on Gold's Gym Interactive 890?

  If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key and unplug the power cord. If the belt has shifted left, use the hex key to turn the left idler roller bolt clockwise 1/2 turn; if it has shifted right, turn the left idler roller bolt counterclockwise 1/2 turn. Then, plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is centered. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both idler roller bolts clockwise 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

  First, ensure that you are using only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all specifications. If the walking belt is overtightened, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both idler roller bolts counterclockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

  To recalibrate the incline, insert the key into the console and press one of the Incline buttons. While the incline is changing, remove the key. After a few seconds, re-insert the key. The treadmill will automatically rise to the maximum incline level and then return to the minimum level, recalibrating the incline system.
