centeroftheholewherethepipe
istopiercethemasonrychimney.
2. Itwillbenecessarytobreakout
themasonryaroundthelocation
ofthepipecentermark.Usea4‐
inchdiameterholefor3‐inchpipe
and5‐inchdiameterholefor4‐
inchpipe.
3. Measureandbuildchimneytop
plate.Cutoutholesforchimney
pipe,andifusedtheoutsideair
pipe.
4. Installtheteeonthebottomof
theverticalpipesystemandlower
itdownthechimneyuntilthe
centerbranchoftheteeislevel
withthecenteroftheholeinthe
masonry,asshowninFigure10.
5. Installandsealthetopplatefrom
step3withnon‐hardeningmastic.
Slipthestormcollaroverthepipe,
andwhileholdingthepipeattheproperelevation,affixthecollarwithaminimumofthree¼”
stainlesssteelsheetmetalscrews.Sealalljointsandseamsaroundthecollar.
6. Connectthehorizontalpipebypushingitthroughtheholeinthemasonryandliningitupwith
thebranchinthetee.Pushthepipeintotheteewhiletwistingittolockitintothetee.
7. Ifdesired,oncethehorizontalpipeisinplace,thespacebetweenthepipeandmasonrymaybe
filledwithhigh‐temperaturegrout.
8. Installthetrim
collar.Anadjustablepipelengthandadaptermaybeneededtofinishthe
connectiontothestove.
