Why Greenlee 853 bender will not operate, bends are overbent or underbent?

Several factors could be at play. First, check that the switch is on and verify the supply voltage circuit operation. If the pointer is misadjusted, loosen the pointer locking screws and rotate clockwise to compensate if overbent, or counterclockwise if underbent, then retighten the locking screws. For 1-1/4", 1-1/2" or 2" EMT, IMC, or Rigid Aluminum conduit, adjust the squeeze according to the adjustment instructions. Reduce squeeze and bend to a smaller angle if overbent; increase squeeze and bend to a larger angle if underbent.
