GENERAL DESCRIPTION and INTENDED USE
The HI991003 is a light weight, portable pH/ORP/
temperature meter for pH and ORP measurements
encountered in recreational waters (swimming pools and
spas), plating baths, water treatment, manufacturing
and environmental testing applications. The HI991003
meter features 2 button operation and is simple to use.
The HI991003 has a waterproof and compact casing,
large Tri‑line display, and automatic pH calibration at
one or two points. The meter is supplied with a rugged
probe protected with a titanium body specially designed
for use on this meter.
The HI12973 pH/ORP probe has a built‑in temperature
sensor for simultaneous temperature compensated pH
and temperature readings, and contains a preamplifier to
provide stable measurements in electrically noisy environ‑
ments. The probe contain a pH sensor with cylindrically
shaped bulb. The probe also contains a single junction
gel filled Ag/AgCl reference electrode with a cloth junction.
Should the junction become fouled, simply pull out the
cloth and trim off the fouled portion. The ORP sensor is
platinum and utilizes the same reference electrode as
the pH electrode. Voltages displayed from this sensor
are referenced to the Ag/AgCl reference with 3.5M KCl
activity.
