The Gain Control provides additional valve drive. See: Gain and
Master in Joint Operation 6.2
If the valve sound has lost some high frequencies they may be
added by turning up the “High” Harmonics. Further fine tuning may
be made by reducing or increasing Treble and Presence Controls,
which offer an enormous pallet of tones to play with, to fine tune the
sound
There may be a noise when switching valve ON or OFF, so try to do
this when not turned up and connected for live sound. See Noise
Notes 6.1
7.2.2 POWERING THE EDB-2 VAP VALVE
The Battery Backup cannot power the valve and associated
features
Rotary Control with yellow knob and 2 switches - Located on top
Batteries are not supplied fitted into EDB-2 VAP to ensure that
when trialled as new, it is powered via EDB/VAP-PSU to
demonstrate that all functions are working
The valve will only power up where the EDB/VAP PSU supplied is
plugged in and powered from a reliable mains supply electricity
preferably with mains filter and surge filter. A delay of around 7
seconds applies before it comes into full operation. Headway
strongly recommends against using an alternative DC Power Supply
Unit and any such use may negate the EDB-2 VAP Guarantee
