( ) Refer to Figure 1-2 and insert the
metal blade of a small screwdriver
into the RIGHT channel PHONO input
socket. Place your finger on the
metal shaft of the screwdriver to
cause hum. You should hear hum
from the right channel speaker.
It is also normal to hear some hum
from the left channel speaker.
( ) In the same manner, use the screw-
driver to inject hum into the LEFT
channel PHONO input socket. You
should hear hum from your left
channel speaker. It is also normal
to hear some hum from the right
channel speaker.
( ) Push the TUNER pushbutton on the
front panel to ON (in).
NOTE: In the following steps it may be
necessary to turn the VOLUME up to get a
good hum response.
( ) Use the screwdriver to inject hum
into the LEFT channel TUNER input
socket. You should hear hum from
the left channel speaker.
( ) In the same manner, inject hum into
the RIGHT channel TUNER input socket .
You should hear hum from the right
channel speaker.
( ) Push the POWER pushbutton to OFF
(out).
( ) Disconnect the power cable plug.
This completes the "Initial Tests."
Proceed to "Final Assembly."
