STARTING THE ENGINE
10.Make sure the shift lever in the
NEUTRAL position.
The shift lever into NEUTRAL
position to prevent start-in-gear
when starting the engine in
emergency. Sudden unexpected
acceleration could result in serious
injury or death.

The propeller and cooling water intake port must be lowered into the
water, running the outboard motor out of the water will damage the water
pump and overheat the engine.
11.Engage the emergency stop switch clip (located at one end of the emergency
stop switch lanyard) with the emergency stop switch.
Attach the other end of the emergency stop switch lanyard securely to the
operator.
