Fuel
For longer service life of the
outboard motor, have your outboard
motor serviced by an authorized
Honda outboard motor dealer before
storage. However, the following
procedures can be performed by you,
the owner, with a minimum of tools.
To avoid this please strictly follow
these recommendations:
Such damage due to spoiled fuel is
disallowed from coverage by the
warranty.
Using contaminated gasoline can
seriously damage the engine
(carburetor clogged, valve stuck).
In worst cases, gasoline can be
contaminated within 30 days.
Gasoline spoils very quickly
depending on factors such as light
exposure, temperature and time.
If long storage (more than 30
days) is foreseen, drain fuel tank
and carburetor.
To slow deterioration, keep
gasoline in a certified fuel
container.
Only use specified gasoline (see
page ).
Use fresh and clean gasoline.
