slack

tighten the
chain. Turn the adjusting nuts
counterclockwise and push the rear
wheel toward the

Adjust the slack
at
a
point
midway
between the engine sprocket and the
rea
r wheel sprocket.

6. Check rear axle alignment

making
sure the chain adjuster index marks
align
with
the
front
edge
of
the adjusting
slots.
Both marks should correspond. If the
axle
is
misaligned, turn the right or left
adjusting nuts until the marks are aligned
and recheck chain slack.
