1. -d:rer stopping the motorcycle,
shift the
:ransmission into
neutral,
turn the fuel
cock OFF,
turn the handlebar
fully to
the
left,
turn
the
ignition
switch
OFF
and remove
the key.
2.Use
the side or center
stand to
support
the motorcycle
while
parked.
CAUTION:
*
Park
the motorcycle
on f irm,
level
ground
to
prevent
it from
falling
over.
*
If
you
must
park
on a slight
in-
cline, aim
the front
of the motor-
cycle
uphill to
reduce
the
possibility
of roiling
off the
side
stand
or overturning.
3.Lock
the steering
to help
prevent
theft
(page
30
).
ANTI.THEFT
TIPS
1.
Always
lock
the steering
and never
leave
the key in
the ignition switch.
This sounds
simple but
people
do forget.
2.
Be sure
the registration information
for
your
motorcycle
is accurate
and
current.
3. Park
your
motorcycle
in a locked
garage
whenever
possible.
4.Use
an additional
anti-theft device
of
good
quality.
5. Put
your
name,
address, and
phone
number in
this Owner's Manual and
keep
it on
your
motorcycles at
all times.
Many
times stolen motorcycles
are
identified
by information in
the Owner's
Manuals
that are still with
them.
