To use the Vista-32FBPT as a Slave Communicator connected to a Fire Alarm System, follow the setup below.

The Vista-32FBPT has not been evaluated for use as a Slave Communicator in UL installations.
Wiring
Wire the Vista-32FBPT as shown in Figure 8-1 below. Be sure to tag the wires at the Terminal Box to identify their
connections between the Fire Alarm Panel and the Vista-32FBPT.
Programming
NOTE: An alpha keypad such as the 6160 is required to program the following.
1. Enter Installer Code + 8 + 0 + 0 for Programming Mode.
2. Enter ∗93 for Zone Programming Mode.
3. Program a zone (corresponding to zone input A) as zone type 09 (Fire), zone type 17 (Waterflow), zone type 18
(Fire Supervisory), or zone type 19 24-Hour Trouble) as applicable.
4. Program the applicable report code for the input zone on the Vista-32FBPT.
5. If using a keypad connected to the Vista-32FBPT and the Communicator will be unmanned, program field ∗77
(Auto Restore) for option 2 (restore troubles and fire alarms).
6. If using zone type 18, field 3∗13 (Fire Supervisory Response to Open/Short) must be set to 1 to report
Supervisory on short or open.
NOTES:
1. Do not use zone type 16 (Fire w/Verification) for the input zone for fire on the Vista-32FBPT. Use zone type 9
only.
2. Do not connect a bell, horns or strobes to the Vista-32FBPT. Annunciation will be provided by the Fire Alarm
Panel.

Provide a suitable terminal box as the point of demarcation between the fire alarm panel and
the Slave Communicator (Vista-32FBPT). Tag the wires at the Terminal Box to identify their
connections between the Fire Alarm Panel and the Vista-32FBPT.
